The race is on at Jackpotjoy!

Bingo website Jackpotjoy is throwing down the gauntlet to its customers by challenging them to pull off a madcap stunt, ‘Just for the Jackpotjoy of it’.
In a TV ad campaign launching this weekend, the online entertainment group urges people to break free of their routine and do something funny, just for the pure joy of it. The company will open up platforms on social networks Facebook and Twitter to allow customers to feed back on the stunts they have performed.
The 60 second ad features Queen of Bingo Barbara Windsor marshalling a race between two pensioners on a Formula 1 race track. But the pensioners aren’t racing in F1 cars – instead they zip around the course in mobility scooters. The scooters even come equipped with shopping baskets, with knitting needles visible in one!
Other TV ads will roll out over the autumn.
The media campaign captures the mood and values of the brand Jackpotjoy, which likes to focus on the positive and is encouraging its customers to do the same. In recent years the company has seen a huge surge of interest in its online bingo site, as increasing numbers of customers sign up to enjoy games and make conversation in the online chat rooms.
“Jackpotjoy.com has always focused on the importance of having fun,” Michael Saunders, Managing Director of Gamesys Group, Jackpotjoy’s parent company said at the ad launch. “Especially in the current climate, people, more than ever, need to embrace doing something silly, that’s what the campaign’s all about, to get the nation smiling again!”
The campaign also features a sign-up offer, giving new customers credit of £30 for a £10 deposit.
Customers will be to read about the stunts performed by their bingo buddies on the Jackpotjoy website as well as on dedicated Facebook and Twitter pages.
The campaign throws the doors open for anybody who enjoys a bit of a fun to be creative and think up ways in which they can perform an off-the-wall exploit. If you’re looking for inspiration, Newry’s formula karting track could be a good place to start. Don’t be surprised if you see local pensioners racing around the track anytime soon!
The ad campaign also signals a return to TV for former Eastenders star Windsor, who left the show two years ago. Returning to the nation’s screens and making the ad was a pleasure for the talented actress. “I’m delighted to be back on our TV screens as the Queen of Bingo for Jackpotjoy.com,” she told us. “It’s always fun to dress up as royalty for the day and I hope that people embrace the light-hearted nature of this campaign and set out to have a bit of fun in their lives.”
