Finn Harps 0 Killeavy United 2

FINN HARPS will be playing their football in the First Division next season, writes Sean McKevitt.
The Church Street side were relegated from the Carnbane top flight at the weekend, after they were defeated 2-0 by Killeavy United. Harps still have three league fixtures remaining, but it is now mathematically impossible for them to catch joint third from bottom teams; Newry Celtic and Ballybot United.
Killeavy dominated the opening half, played in a rain swept Finn Harps Park on Saturday afternoon, and almost broke the deadlock when their talisman Barry Magee drilled an effort off the post. But the irrepressible Magee wasn't to be denied the opener, firing the ball into the top corner of the net, with a superb strike on the edge of the box, in the twentieth minute.
Harps came into the game much more in the second half and were unfortunate not to equalise on several occasions. But two minutes from time any hopes of a comeback were firmly quashed when Killeavy bagged a second goal. Paddy Morgan dispossessed a Harps defender, before delivering a pinpoint cross to the inrushing David Reel, who headed the ball home at the back post, to seal the points for the South Armagh men.
