EAMONN White made it look easy as he stormed around the tough, hilly course to claim first place in the annual Burren AC 10k road race.
With a finish time of 34:53 he was two minutes ahead of second placed Alan Johnston of Murlough AC, while Barrie Atkinson of East Down AC completed the podium trio in 37:57.
Malachy McAteer was next over the line to claim the First Veterans prize in a time of 38:46. He was followed home by Burren AC's Darren O'Hare (40:20) and Dromore's Colm Turley (40:49).
Second in the Male Veterans category was John Hasson of Ballymena Runners (42:27) with Peter Young, defying his sixty odd years by claiming the third spot with a stunning 42:52.
Promising Newry City Runner Paul Lyons, took the Male Junior prize in a time of 46:47. Meanwhile in the Ladies race it was a clean sweep by the Lagan Valley Juniors. Eva Laverty produced a blistering 43:12 minute performance on home turf to take first prize, followed by Elaine Burch in 45:17 and Emma Laverty in 46:53 minutes.
The local clubs were well represented in the Female Veterans category with Newry City Runners' Donna Murdock taking first prize in a time of 50:27, followed by Jenny O'Hare, of Point Running Club (53:18) and Moira Magee of Newry City Runners (54:38).
Burren AC are very grateful to all the runners, safety marshals, community police officers, the ladies who provided the welcome refreshments and indeed everyone who helped to make this a most enjoyable event.
