CRAOBH RUA 1-12 Sean tracy's 1-11.
CROABH Rua ended more than a decade of hurt to win their first Armagh Championship title, with a pulsating victory over Sean Tracy's on Sunday.
Played in the Athletic Grounds as the curtain-raiser to the Senior Final Camlough went into Sunday's contest knowing they had a tough task, having already lost to the Lurgan side on two previous occasions this season.
But defeats to Killeavy, Derrynoose II, and indeed Tracey's in numerous finals over recent years has made this young hurling side resilient and despite trailing by five point's at the break, the Camlough side were not going to lose on Sunday.
The south Armagh lads got off to a dreadful start as the Lurgan side scored a goal in the opening minute.
However, Craobh Rua battled back with captain Michael Garvey steering his side and young Fionnan Burns grabbed a goal early in the second half to but Camlough back in contention.
Fiachra Bradley, Mark Flemming, Paul Cunningham and Eoin Robb played great stuff and after taking the lead Craonh Rua were forced to withstand a barrage from Tracy's but they did enough to hold on and create history.
It is a remarkable achievement and with success at underage, the opening of their pitch and club in recent times, it is the piece of the jigsaw that Craobh Rua needed and just reward for the work that has gone into the south Armagh hurling club.
