The Mighty Quinn thumbnailCAMLOUGH ABC boxer Fearghus Quinn won his way through to the All Ireland U18 Championship semi-final when he edged out former champion and local lad Conor Wallace at Dublinís National Stadium at the weekend.

FEARGHUS Quinn edged out Conor Wallace to make the semi-final of the All Ireland U18 75 kilo championship.
In a close contest at Dublin's National Stadium at the weekend the Belleek boxer, fighting in the colours of Camlough ABC, won a majority decision over his local Sacred Heart rival.
It was a hugely entertaining contest with Abbey student Quinn's power and guts rivalling Wallace's skill and athleticism. The scoring was so close with Quinn winning the opening two rounds, both on a 28-27 points margin and Wallace winning the last one 30-17.
Camlough coach Martin McCusker said: "It was a good sporting contest between two local lads. Fearghus has great potential and has been knocking on the door for quite some time now. In the last four contests against Conor, Fearghus has won three. Boxing is classed one of the loneliest sports in the world and it was so hard for the loser."
McCusker continued: "At the weekend Fearghus takes on John G Lawrence from the Eagle Club and both myself and fellow coach Martin Holland believe he can go all the way as he has trained hard, running the hills of south Armagh in preparation for these championships."
Also if he wins the All Ireland Fearghus will qualify for the World Youth Championships, scheduled for Bulgaria.
