Orchard face Rossies
Tuesday, 15 July 2014
ARMAGH shouldn't need much motivation ahead of Saturday's (July 19, at 5pm) Round Three Qualifier contest away at Dr Hyde Park, Roscommon.
Only two year's ago in Dr Hyde Park, it was the Rossies that dumped a much-fancied Orchard County out of the Championship, which ended Paddy O'Rourke's tenure in charge.
Like then Armagh face Roscommon after playing Tyrone, only back 2012 the Orchard County lost to the Red Hands.
The Orchard lads will be in confident mood after what was an impressive victory over rivals Tyrone in Healy Park.
Paul Grimley's men never looked like losing and should have won by a greater margin and finishing is something they will be working on during midweek.
Saturday's game will be broadcast live on Sky Sports, and should be a tight contest. Roscommon's confidence will be high after a convincing 11-point demolition of Cavan and after winning the National League Division Three League they are a team making strides.
With two wins, a draw and defeat so far in this season's Championship there can be no excuse for complacency but an Armagh victory will mean they then play the loser of the Ulster or Leinster Final.
It is a busy weekend for Armagh supporters as the Minors play Donegal in Sunday's (July 20) Ulster Final in Clones at 2pm.
