SLIEVE GULLION RUNNERS

OMAGH half marathon

Well done to the Slieve Gullion Runners Joe McKevitt and Barry McCarroll who took part in the recent Omagh half marathon.

Both lads finished high up the ranks with Joe finishing in 1.15 and Barry 1.21.

Palestine marathon

SGR man Eamon Murphy took part in the Palestine marathon recently.

The marathon is ran each year to highlight free movement for all and Eamon's objective was to educate himself in a life experience as well as raising much needed funds for the Amos trust.

Eamon ran the marathon in 3 hours and 44 minutes.

Manchester marathon

SGR members Hugh Morgan, Tina Crawley and Shirley Ruddy took part in the recent full marathon in Manchester.

Hugh Morgan had a exceptional run and blitzed his recent times to record a personal best time of 3.08, this placed him eighth overall in his age category.

Tina recorded a swift 4.01 and added another full marathon to her tally with pal Shirley Ruddy finishing shortly after. Well done to all three.

Park run 5k

A number of SGR members took part in various park runs over the weekend.

The Dundalk park run was organised in memory of our good running friend Andy Calliff, who we lost earlier in the week.

Participants wore red in tribute to his affection for all things red and Liverpool.

Meanwhile, participants at the Armagh park run all took part in wearing blue to show support for world Autism day.
