NEWRY'S Jake Tucker has been named vice captain of the Irish Senior Cadet Team ahead to the this weeks European Junior Championships in Bulgaria

The 70-kilo fighter has returned from a Irish High Performance Team 12-day intense training camp at Edenderry and is in good shape ahead of his fights.

Jake turned 16 last month and he will be aiming to emulate his older brother Kane, who reached the quarter-final of last year's tournament.

Kane, who won silver at the Commonwealth Youth Games in the Bahamas during the summer, is back in the sun this week as part of the Ulster High Performance team in Benidorm.

The brothers, who moved to Banbridge last year, box out of Belfast's Holy Trinity Boxing Club.
