WAYNE Graham won the Newry Triathlon Club’s Aquabike race on Saturday, riding like a trooper on the bike to catch swim leader Brian Muckian and finish with the super time of 1.17.41 (with a swim time of 31.13).
Competitors lined up at Camlough Lake to swim 1.9 kilometres and then bike 25 kilometres over the rolling south Armagh hills.
First to exit the water was Brian Muckian 30.20, followed by Camlough’s newest triathlon star Barry Loughran in 31.03. Third out was winner Graham with Mark McGivern fourth in 33.22.
Wayne though pushed the pace on the bike and was a worthy winner while Loughran was second in 1.18.20 and Muckian third in 1.22.04.
The rest of the top ten were Mark McGivern in 1.23.56, Alan Lewis (1.28.24), David Lundy (1.31.15), Jonny Gregg (1.32.15), Paul Fallon (1.36.54), Mickey Mallon (1.41.24) and Conor Magee (1.44.34).
Jane Hughes was the top woman in 1.57.47 with new club member Katrina Toale close behind in 1.58.02.
