PATRICIA Brown chiselled out a new personal best with a well-deserved time of 20 minutes and 11 seconds at the Runways 5K in Newtownards.
It won’t be long until she dips under the 20 minutes, so watch this space.
Patricia also showed fine form in the week prior to Newtownards as in Dublin on May 3, in the Irish Runner 5K, she completed the course in a magnificent time of 20.56. Congrats to Patricia.
Meanwhile three Newry City Runners took part in the fourth in the Series of the Hill and Dale at Slieve Binnian, with yet again impressive times. Shane O’Callaghan did 36:26, Aidan Trainor did 41:01 while Evelyn Marsh posted up a 46:07.
In the Hill and Dale Series at Slieve Donard on Saturday, May 11, Clive Weir ran 58:42 a great time, especially as he completed a good race at the Belfast Marathon the week before - so well done to Clive.
Three NCR’s travelled to Mary Peter’s Track in Belfast to compete in a graded one-mile race. Times were as follows: Gerard McAleenan 5:50, Pat Rocks 6:01 and Willie McCracken 7:25. Well done to all three.
