ARMAGH are a lot better than what they showed against Monaghan on Sunday.
I don't believe we are 12 points worse than Monaghan but on Sunday we were that bad.
Monaghan are a good side. They hammered Derry in the Division One of the National League, whereas we struggled to beat the Oak Leafers by a goal, so we shouldn’t be surprised we lost.
Sunday was not a good day for Armagh football and hope we have better days ahead.
The players don't need to read the papers to know they didn't perform well.
If they were going to win the game then they needed to score the first few points of the second half and once that didn't happen the game was gone.
Armagh are usually a great defensive unit but on Sunday they got roasted. The worrying factor is that for the last 20 minutes we didn't make a single change.
There was much more going on, on the Monaghan bench and one of the key factors in the game was how Monaghan made changes to their personnel quickly.
Reputations meant nothing and players were switched quite quickly.
Armagh had a lot of players not having a good game and no changes were made until the half-time.
There is no excuse for a 12-point defeat. Armagh supporters can accept defeat and being forced to take the backdoor route.
But the manner in which we capitulated was hard to take.
Monaghan struggled when Paul Duffy ran at them but we only tried that move a few times.
You have to ask where was the hunger? When you see young Jamie Clarke out-jumping Charlie Vernon to win possession and scoring a point, you have to wonder if the players are all singing from the one hymn-sheet.
The players need to get their roles sorted out and done quickly.
