A FLAT have been damaged during a fire in North Street in Newry late on Sunday night, October 21, it has been reported.

A spokesperson for the PSNI said that the fire was reported at around 11.20pm. Both the police and NIFRS attended and the fire was extinguished. 

No one was in the property at the time, however a female resident in an adjoining flat was treated for shock.

Enquiries are ongoing at this time to determine the cause of the fire and detectives are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with information to contact them at Ardmore quoting reference 1475 21/10/18.
