SOUTH Down MLA, Jim Wells, says that he will remain a member of the DUP.

That’s despite the fact that he will have to sit in Stormont as an independent - that is, if it is restored.

“As long as Stormont doesn't meet, I remain the DUP MLA for South Down and operate totally as normal but once Stormont comes back, if ever, because I've had the whip removed from me I have to sit as an independent,” he told The Democrat.
