Cleary Celtic 2 Newry Celtic 0
CLEARY Celtic made it and incredible four Mid Ulster Shield titles in a row after a overcoming a great battle against Carnbane League rivals Newry Celtic.
Played on Easter Monday at Newry Showgrounds it took a second half penalty conversion from former Newry City playmaker Marty Havern to break the deadlock and it was soon followed up with a goal from Stephen Quinn who wrapped up victory.
Cleary Celtic manager John Hogg was pleased with his side and he expects the celebrations to go on long into the week even though they play Newry Celtic again at the weekend.
“In second half the boys were excellent, they gave more than we asked off them, brilliant,” said Hogg.
“They wanted it more in the second half and they got it so fair play to the boys, there us nothing between us, thankfully we got over the line today.”
