SOUTH Armagh singer-songwriter Sionan Hanratty is hoping that she can be signing alongside American star Zach Byran when he plays at Dublin's Phoenix Park.
I'm sure she is not the only one, you might think, but Sionan already knows what it's like to realise dreams by singing in the famous Blue Bird Cafe in Nashville earlier this year.
Sionan has been making videos on social platforms asking can she be picked to do a duet with Zach to sing 'I Remember Everything' at Phoenix Park on Sunday (June 22).
“I have been a fan of Zach Bryan's music for a long time now and always loved his duet with Kacey Musgraves,” says Sionan.
“At some of his American shows he has had female singers join him on stage to duet that part so it’s not an uncommon thing for him to do. I have always been told there is similarities between me and Kacey Musgraves' tone, so when I knew I was going to his concert I thought, there is no better woman for this job why not try to get his attention.”
Zach is currently on a world tour playing three nights in Dublin, before two nights in London, and then back to the States where is was raised.
Zach has risen to fame after leaving the Navy to pursue music in 2019, to selling out 70-000 seater stadiums, with hits such as Better Days (feat John Mayer), Spotless, Summertime Blues, Blue Jean Baby, while Memphis, The Blues (feat JR Carroll) is his latest offering.
Nashville
“I’m a big believer in manifesting things I recently have just returned from Nashville on a writers trip and played the world famous Blue Bird Cafe, there is musicians living in Nashville every week applying for the opportunity to play a live slot there and I got it,” Sionan said.
“I said to myself I’m playing the Bluebird- believed it and it happened. I even got asked up to play a second song on the night. I’m hoping the same positivity works out for this one also. If nothing else I am so overwhelmed and appreciative of the support from everyone who has rallied behind me, sharing and tagging Zach along the way.
“Let’s see what happens.“If its meant to be it wont pass me.”
