ADDING yet another accolade to her remarkable repertoire of achievements is Lislea born musical protegee Niamh Noade who has released a cover of the very song which she first sang during her rise to fame.
The Winner Takes it All, which was originally released by Abba over 4 decades ago , was the track the heavenly harpist at just 14 years of age put her own unique spin on during her blind audition for the Voice Kids UK last year.
Whilst Niamh’s performance during the blind audition would see her receive universal praise from the panel of Judges on the Voice Kids, which included Black Eyed Peas front man will.i.am, regrettably the tantalising traditional musician was only afforded a minute and a half by which to impress the judges and audience with her seraphic singing talents.
Thankfully all those who followed Niamh throughout her time on the Voice Kids UK, in which the teen’s tantalising talents saw her through to the finals of the contest , will now be able to experience the mythically marvellous muse’s full rendition of the classic Abba track in its entirety following the release of a new feature length cover of the song.
According to Niamh’s mother Deidre it was the encouragement that young Miss Noade received on the part of her adoring fans and Voice Kids Judge Ronan Keating which motivated her to record and release her new single.
Signature Song
“Niamh's cover of The Winner Takes It All, which was the song she performed on The Voice Kids, is going to be released on July 5. Khalysis Music is the name of the producer that has produced the soundtrack for the Album. Niamh recorded the vocal on her home studio as well as on the harp at home before sending it over to them.
“She told the vocal coach what she wanted. They were then able to add the accompanying music and mix it together. Ronan Keating felt that it was a really powerful song and the spin that Niamh put on it along with the way that she sang it was very different.
“He thought it was amazing and this is what inspired us to do this. There are over 3.7 million views of it on Niamh's own social media pages along with 4000 comments and 16'000 shares. “Lots of people have said to me that The Winner Takes it all is Niamh's signature song. However when you do a blind audition you only do it for a minute and a half. Lots of followers asked Niamh if she would record the full version. Between this and Ronan's comments this is what inspired us.
“We had to wait 3 months to get the licencing rights to release it. Then we decided to release around the anniversary of Niamh being on the Voice Kids.”
In addition to the publication of the new single the release of the full cover of the Winner Takes it All will also be accompanied by a music video courtesy of award winning protectionist Darren Hill.
“Niamh is in the accompanying music video. This was produced in Helen’s Bay. It was a Darren Hill of Darren Hill productions who produced the video. Darren won the Northern Ireland Music Video of the year last year.”
Shedding some light on what platforms her cover of The Winner Takes It all will be available on come the release date of July 5 was the seraphic south Armagh singer herself who in addition to captivating audiences with her angelic voice and plucky fingers has managed to raise £11’000 in the three short years since her rise to fame began.
Fundraising
“The Winner Takes It All was the song I sang during my blind audition at the Voice Kids, but I am releasing the full version of it with the backing track. I got to the finals of the Voice Kids 2023 with Ronan Keating as my coach. For my final song I sang People Help the People. It was everyone's idea to have this single produced.
“ It was one of the students of my vocal coach Julie Miles that mixed everything together. I then sent over the recording of the harp, my vocals and then Khalysis mixed it all together.
“My cover of the winner takes it all will be released on all the major platforms such as Spotify, Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok, Apple Music and YouTube.
“I am really proud of how far I have come and I am really happy to release The Winner Takes it All as it is one of my favourite songs and it just brings me back to the voice kids and those great memories. I am really happy with how much I have raised and I am happy that this will be able to go to a great cause.”
Despite the fact that she is hot of the production of her new single Niamh’s musical aspirations show no signs of slowing down, with the likes of Newcastle, Oslo and Helsinki being on this years performance agenda.
Apparently, the Magnet Young Adult Centre will be also set to be the primary recipient of Niamh’s altruistic musical endeavours going forward as well.
Upcoming Performances
“Niamh was asked by Julie to be a charitable ambassador for an event she is headlining at and will be singing a number of songs for, one of which will be The Winner Takes It All. Niamh has chosen the Magnet Young Adult centre as the charity to receive this money. We wanted to continue on the theme of young person's charities for those aged 14 to 25.
“They have a music centre in the Magnet Young Adult Centre and we thought it would be nice to raise money for them.
“Niamh will also be travelling to Norway and Finland in September to perform in front of some very significant celebrity status people in an event that is going to see around 10'000 people in attendance.
There are lots of exciting things in store for Niamh at the moment.”
