MAY 6 has been set as the date for the first courtroom appearance of a man who stands charged with a number of sexual offences alleged to have taken place in November of last year.
The man, who is in his thirties and has not been named, stands charged with two counts of sexual assault and two counts of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent. He was previously arrested on December 10 of last year and was later released on bail.
It is understood the charges are in connection with an alleged incident while Armagh GAA was on a trip to the United States following their second All Ireland Victory in July of last year in which they beat rivals Galway by a single point.
A solicitor representing the man commented that "My client maintains his innocence and has instructed me to contest the charges fully."
The man is due to appear at Armagh Magistrates' Court on May 6
