Body recovered from Albert Basin

THE PSNI have confirmed that a body has been recovered from the Albert Basin in Newry.

Officers  closed the area from  William Street Bridge towards Fathom Line whilst they and emergency services  attended the incident

Motorists are advised to take another route for your journey.

A PSNI spokesperson said that “Police can confirm that a body has been recovered from Newry River in the Albert Basin area of the city this afternoon, Friday 31st October. A post-mortem will take place in due course.”
